Hyperion Treatment Plant Desulfurization Facility Improvements

This $10M project will consist of installing and operating a digester gas/natural gas-fueled combined cycle cogeneration system at HTP. The cogeneration system will include the combustion of digester gas (or digester gas/natural gas mixture) in three combustion turbine generators (CTGs) to generate electricity, the recovery of heat to generate steam in three HRSGs, the generation of power from a steam turbine generator train (two STGs), and the extraction of a portion of the steam to meet the steam demand of the digesters.

The proposed project will offer efficient utilization of the digester gas and improve operations for BOS. DGUP will consume all digester gas produced at HTP, address energy needs by generating up to 34 MW of electricity, and provide up to 70,000 lb/hr of 90 psig saturated process steam.

ON-SITE performed Quality Assurance inspection of the critical components such as pipe, switchgear, transformers, motor control centers, pumps, conveyors, pressure vessels, HVAC equipment, valves, and tanks for this project at locations throughout the U.S.

Donald C. Tillman Water Reclamation Plant, which serves San Fernando Valley communities, and has the capacity to process 64 MGD. ON-SITE provided fabrication inspection services of the Nitrification/Denitrification engineered equipment associated with the project at over twelve manufacturers throughout the United States and Germany simultaneously. Items inspected included the inspection of Recirculation Pumps, Vertical Pumps, stainless steel pipe and fittings, coating inspections, structural steel inspections, valves, VFD, mixers, skimmers, MCC, and fiberglass reinforced piping.

ON-SITE management personnel performed direct management of the Quality Assurance inspection during the construction of the multi-billion dollar, City of Los Angeles’ Hyperion Sewage Treatment Plant. Quality Assurance services for the Hyperion Project alone required management of Quality Assurance personnel in seven countries, and a myriad of cities; to review the manufacture of critical components such as pipe, switchgear, transformers, motor control centers, pumps, conveyors, pressure vessels, HVAC equipment, valves, and tanks during this 5-year project.

Los Angeles-Glendale Water Reclamation Plant, which serves Eastern San Fernando Valley communities and has the capacity to process 15 MGD. ON-SITE provided fabrication inspection services of the Nitrification/Denitrification engineered equipment associated with the project at over fifteen manufacturers throughout the United States simultaneously. Items inspected included the inspection of Recirculation Pumps, Vertical Pumps, stainless steel pipe and fittings, coating inspections, structural steel inspections, mixers, skimmers, VFD, MCC, valves and fiberglass reinforced piping.

Alameda Corridor Anaheim Street Pump Station Project was constructed to provide and improve drainage in the area for flood control. Storm water from the newly constructed pump station will be discharged into the Dominguez Channel through an outfall structure.

ON-SITE provided construction inspection services, field technical support, fabrication inspection and engineering support during the performance testing of 2 each 33,000 GPM 700 HP pumps. Fabrication inspection of the engineered equipment such as the pumps, bridge crane, and large diameter valves was completed at locations in the United States and Mexico.

Lancaster Water Reclamation Plant Stage 5 Recycled Water Transmission Pipeline consists of the manufacture of over 45,000 ft of 36″ diameter steel pipe and fabricated fittings. The Lancaster WRP provides primary and secondary treatment (aerated oxidation ponds) for 16 million gallons of wastewater per day and serves a population of approximately 160,000 people.

ON-SITE provided inspection of the large diameter pipe, fittings and coating inspection at locations throughout the United States.
